When Mubarak’s regime boldly took
over Egypt, I took
it personal. Everyone I knew thought
I was insane, including me sometimes !
I had an admirable career and a perfect lifestyle and I could have just taken the privilege, but that wasn’t right. It wasn’t right that other men should fight, be imprisoned and die, while I’m just sitting at home safe talking about it. I needed to serve Egypt. I’ve got the energy and the passion to serve as a real patriot, right in the middle of danger with everyone.
Ironically, I was a revolutionist against the Revolution itself! while everybody else was seeking Retaliation and looking back to a Past full of Despair, Discrimination and Hatred, I was looking forward to seeing a Future full of Hope, Equality and Harmony.
With Egypt so set on tearing itself apart, it did not seem like such a bad thing to me to want to put a little bit of it back together.
For me, Justice was never about justified Revenge !
